Starting in Southerndown, we will walk along the coastal path to Dunraven Bay and the ruins of its castle, before a gentle climb up to the Witches Nose, admiring the stunning views.
For the next part of the walk we will then go in-land, joining the Valeways Millennium Heritage Trail, eventually joining a lane which we will walk along for some time, until reaching Monknash and then on to Marcross. We finally drop back down towards the coastal path via fields and woodland. Nash Point and its lighthouse will then be on our left.
The return leg will be fully on the coastal path, finally returning back to the starting point.
This walk offers beautiful views of this wonderful part of the coastline, especially on a clear day.
Please note that the coastal path is undulating, with some gentle ascents and descents, including some sections with steps. It may be muddy and slippy in parts so please wear good shoes as well as being prepared for wet and windy conditions.
Dogs are welcome but they will need to be on a lead when walking on the road and through fields. There are a small number of stiles. These have dog gates but may be unsuitable for larger dogs.
Toilets are available at Dunraven Bay which are close to the start and end of the walk.
