The St Edmund Way is a long distance path across Suffolk, connecting Manningtree to Brandon.
We're gradually walking the whole 80 mile route in a series of walks, exploring some of the surrounding area as we go. Our walks will be circular or linear, depending on the availability of public transport, and "the difference" is that we'll gradually stitch the whole trail together without doing any car shuffling at the start/end of each stage.
Stage 4 is our first linear walk in the series, meeting at Sudbury Bus Station to catch the 43A to Leavenheath. After a short walk from the bus stop, we'll rejoin the St Edmund Way near Ager Fen, where we last left it, and continue along the trail back to Sudbury.
The route crosses rolling countryside, with dragon legends, pretty villages, beautiful churches and views over the Stour Valley.
There are limited facilities along the route; please bring enough food and drink for the day.
NOTE MEETING TIME: Bus leaves Sudbury Bus Station at 09:26; £3 (or bus pass),
Closest parking to bus station is Friars Meadow Car Park (near Waitrose/Leisure Centre) - £2.50 for the day.
Bus arrives Leavenheath (Elm Tree Lane) 09:57 to start walking at 10:00. If you're not using the bus and want to join us at Leavenheath, please let the Walk Leader know in advance, so we can look out for you when we get off the bus.
