Overview

St Leonards Forest is at the Western edge of the Wealden Forest Ridge which runs from Horsham to Tonbridge and is part of the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Starting this circular walk from Leechpool Woods we follow the High Weald Landscape Trail into the forest, walking along Mick Mills Race and Race Hill to Frenchbridge Gill. The route then continues past Mannings Heath Vineyard and Golf course to Roosthole Hammer Pond and St Leonards House

The intention is to have a picnic lunch when we get back to the carpark in a grassed area with seating so please bring a snack to have on route.

Please text the leader to confirm your attendance.

Parking is at Leechpool and Owlbeech car park. It is free. The car park is just off the B2195, Harwood Road, Horsham on the southern side, about 400 yds west of the roundabout where Harwood Lane intersects with Comptons Lane. It is well signed. Please do not rely on the postcode to find the exact location of the car park as it takes you into a residential area.
