Meet outside Dore & Totley Station for the rearranged second stage of our walking of the Steel-Cotton Rail Trail for a 10:30 start.
You can get there by using either a 97, 98 or 218 bus or by using the 10:14 Northern Hope Valley service from Sheffield Station to Dore & Totley Station.
Please note that car parking is available at the nearby Abbeydale Sports Club whilst the station car park is closed until the end of March.
The walk will go through Poynton Wood, Hay Brook, Moss Road, over Totley Moor then down through the Longshaw Estate and Yarncliffe Wood to Grindleford Station (for train back).
The walk goes through woods and then there is a longish uphill section up to Totley Moor. WE then follow a downward route through Logshaw and Yarncliffe to Grindleford.
Some of the paths will be rough, muddy, rutted and with occasional surface water.
There are no facilities at the start but there is a Cafe at the end.
Only a couple of stiles. A number of busy roads will have to be crossed with care and patience.
Hopefully there will be time for a mug of tea before our return train from Grindleford.
