After walking through the attractive village of Clifford Chambers we will head west for about 1.5 miles along a byway until we reach The Greenway, a former railway line now a shared use path for walking and cycling (so watch out for cyclists). We follow this until we reach Stannals Bridge where we join part of Monach’s Way which takes us along the banks of the River Avon towards Stratford. Lunch break will be in Stratford where there are plenty of shops, pubs, tea-rooms and park benches in the tourist area. Our return journey takes us along field paths and tracks back to the cars.
There are no significant inclines, only a few stiles and much of the walk is on well-made paths. However there are stretches that are likely to be muddy after a period of rain.
Post-walk refreshment can be taken at The New Inn, Clifford Chambers.
