Join me on this ramble up to the Old John Tower Bradgate Park to take in the Summer Solstice Sunset and great views over the city of Leicester and surrounding countryside. As it is a later start the walk will be around 4 miles which will give enough time to appreciate the sunset. (weather permitting). Starting will be from Newtown Linford.
As we are climbing to the highest point there will be a degree of uphill walking
No stiles to encounter
Toilets may be open
Although it wont be fully dark, a torch of some description should be carried for the walk back
If time a drink can be taken at the Bradgate Arms.
Dogs can be taken but should be kept on a lead at all times due to the free roaming Deer
From the church in Newtown Linford we will make our way to the Old John Tower to take in the sunset and views. Good footwear should be worn as the ground may be uneven and slippery if wet. After a coffee stop at the top, we will drop down the hill and follow the pathway back to the village. The park is open at night for walking but the car park is closed.
