If you are a Ramblers member, please bring your membership card. You MUST text or ring the leader to BOOK a place. You should not join the walk unless you have received a verbal CONFIRMATION or a TEXT.
Starting at the Recreation ground , we head towards Roundway Hill and The Plantation, giving us our first glimpse of the amazing view’s to come. We turn back on ourselves, now on the Mid Wilts Way and walk up to Olivers Castle. Here, weather permitting we will stop for a snack/mini picnic taking in the spectacular views, then a short descent down Beacon Hill, and we skirt around it heading back into Heddington.
Anyone who would like a shorter walk of around 6.5 km/4.1 miles or require a lift, please contact the leader to discuss.
We start the walk from the Heddington Recreation Ground car park which is found by turning off Stockley Road and going up Home Farm Close.
