We are the Hike Essex Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
Super moon walk to Wivenhoe. May's full moon is known as the Flower Moon and this year coincides with a supermoon.
Linear walk along the river Colne to Wivenhoe along the Wivenhoe trail. Subject to clear skies we may be lit along the way by a flower moon. Flower moon is the first full moon after the spring equinox.
As dusk falls, we may also be lucky enough to be serenaded by the song of the Nightlingale. There is a good spot en route and the birds are still singing.
Please bring a torch of some description as it may be gloomy towards the end.
There will be an optional stop at a pub in wivenhoe at the end of the walk. There are trains and buses back to the Colchester station and beyond.
Meet at the front of the main entrance to Colchester station. There is plenty of carparking there.
There are regular trains from wivenhoe back to colchester and onwards to London.
