This is a circular walk around Mersea island with excellent views across the Rivers Colne and Blackwater. It’s a very scenic walk that takes in views of Brightlingsea, Bradwell and wider Essex (if a clear day). The walk takes in the pathways and beaches at East and West Mersea.
Parts of the walk (North of the island) may require trousers and walking boots / shoes are recommended. There will be a lunch stop, so please bring a packed lunch. There will also be the option of a pub stop at the end.
The group walk at a steady pace of around 2.5 miles an hour, and there is requirement of all walkers to respect the general pace.
Numbers are strictly limited and places need to be prebooked with the walk leader.

Please note the earlier than normal start time. This is to accommodate the high tide at 5:45. This will allow us to complete the walk in good time for a drink after the walk (if wished) and also getting off the island.
We meet at 9:00 for a 9:15 start.
Toilets are available at the walk start, at our lunch stop and at the end.
