Overview

Meet at Gratton Recreation Ground Car Park in Sutton Scotney. Approaching the village from the south go right through the village and on reaching a roundabout go right and then the narrow car park entrance is on the right shortly after. 2 metre height restriction barrier.

The No 75 bus from Andover arrives at 9.08 and from Winchester arrives at 9.13. Take the path just north of the stores to the Recreation Ground and go left across it to the car park.

The walk is going between 179 and 308 feet above sea level  with 424 feet of ascent with a few stiles in the valley of the River Dever which is crossed four times. Bring something to drink and eat as there will be stops at the churches in Wonston and Bullington.

The Coach and Horses in the village serves food until 14.30.

In order to ensure the walk is undertaken safely the leader expects participants to -

(a) Stay behind the leader during the walk unless otherwise instructed;

(b) To walk in single file on carriageways without footways

and

(c) If the attendance exceeds 12 there will need to be a volunteer to be a back marker during the walk.
