Overview

A varied circular walk 9 miles long, which includes a stretch along the Swaffham Bulbeck Lode and a section along the Devil's Dyke.

The walk starts and finishes in Swaffham Bulbeck car park. This is on the edge of the village green, near the goal posts. It is quite difficult to spot the car park because it is grassed over. The entrance is a height restriction bar.

The walk takes in the three villages of Swaffham Bulbeck (an important inland port from medieval times), Reach (a significant centre from anglo-saxon days) and Swaffham Prior (which has twin churches and an operating windmill).

Lunch will be after 5 miles in the Dyke's End pub in Reach.

Walk leader is James B 07773 428331
