Overview

From the church in Syerston, we walk to Elston to visit its medieval chapel before heading towards East Stoke to follow the Battle of Stoke Field Trail that explores the site of the last battle of the Wars of the Roses. Passing Stoke Hall, we visit the church and then drop down to the Trent opposite Fiskerton for lunch. We then walk along fishermen's paths towards Hazelford Weir before climbing up to higher ground and back to Elston along the track of Trent Lane and then retrace our steps to Syerston. No stiles; some road walking

We will stop for a picnic lunch.
