This walk is a variation on an old Weatherman Walking route we led for our group 8 years ago. We start by ascending up to Table Mountain using a sunken path by a tumbling stream that we hadn't walked before our recce, then looping round over The Darren escarpment before descending to the Glan Usk Estate.
Here we follow a permissive path through the estate onto the Mon-Brecon Canal, returning on the towpath but leaving it to cut back to Crickhowell across the stone bridge over the River Usk before we reach Llangattock. If the weather is clear there are spectacular views from the top.

There is a long ascent at the beginning up to Table Mountain, and the path can be uneven and stony, with a stream to cross, so waterproof boots and poles are recommended. The weather at the top can be windy and cold, so normal warm waterproof clothing should be brought so we are prepared for bad weather.
There is some road walking and a few stiles.
Look forward to seeing some of you on Sunday.
Judy and Mike.
