Join us for a circular 4.5 mile walk in the beautiful Talley area. Weather permitting there will be splendid views. We start on a good track going gently up through woodland with views including of the two Talley lakes. We emerge at an open area with 200 degree views of the surrounding area. Again weather permitting we will have a short refreshment stop here. We then gradually head down back to Talley over open moorland grazing land and this is where it may be muddy from the recent bad weather. The last section of the walk is along very quiet lanes back into Talley, passing some fine houses on the way. There are no stiles on the route.
The walk starts from the Abbey (what3words onions.soft.irritate) and St Michael & All Saints Church (SA19 7YR) in Talley. Car sharing if possible to limit the impact on available parking space. Carmarthen Ramblers group will be meeting in the car park outside Carmarthen Museum (what3words showrooms.flute.locker SA31 2JG) for car sharing, departing at 10.00am. The nearest public toilets are probably in the main car park in Llandeilo. From the refreshment stop onwards the route will be on exposed and probably muddy ground so warm clothing, preferably waterproof, and sturdy footwear essential. For more guidance please consult Carmarthen Ramblers website www.carmarthenramblers.org.uk
