The walk takes us through parts of Bermondsey that Dickens described as “the filthiest, strangest and most extraordinary of the many localities that are hidden in London"; fortunately the environment has improved since then. Taking in the views of the north side of the river, including Canary Wharf, the walk will end at Canada Water where you can get the Jubilee Line back to London Bridge. Alternatively, you can continue walking for a further two miles by being guided back to the Thames Path and then making your own way back to London Bridge; perhaps enjoying refreshment in one of the historic river pubs along the way.
