Overview

We start in Margaret Street Car park in Thaxted, postcode CM6 2QN.

We take in John Webb’s windmill before heading along the river in the direction of Rowey Wood. At the halfway point we will stop in at the Elder Street café for a quick sandwich lunch. Anna has agreed to let us use their picnic tables but please order your drink of choice from the café. I  will have a menu and you can pre-order a sandwich at the start of the walk if you do not wish to bring your own. After about half an hour, we will head back toward Thaxted past Wimbish Garden Centre and a variety of woodland trails.

This walk will be at a somewhat brisker pace than our usual "leisurely" walks.
