We are the Tendring District Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.

We will meet at Brightlingsea Hard and take the 10am foot ferry (3 minutes) to Point Clear. Please bring £3.50 in change to pay for your ferry crossing. At Point Clear we shall follow Brightlingsea Creek and along St Osyth Creek to Mill Dam Lake where we will stop for a coffee break. After coffee, we will walk up to and skirt around Howlands Marsh Nature Reserve and around the perimeter of Martins Farm Country Park to Flag Hill. After some road walking, we pass alongside Bentley Country Park Holiday Park, taking lunch overlooking Flag Creek and following the Creek back into Brightlingsea.
Please bring a picnic lunch and wear appropriate clothing to suit the prevailing weather conditions.
Parking along the road on and around The Hard, Waterside is problematic. It is suggested that you park along Promenade Way allowing time for a ten minute walk to The Hard and importantly in time to take the 10am ferry crossing. there are public toilets in the car park on Promenade Way.
Car sharing is always appreciated by local residents.
We will only take the ferry one way and walk back into Brightlingsea.
