Overview

A leisurely five mile walk on woodland tracks and paths on the higher ground in the north east corner of the Forest of Dean. This gently undulating walk passes through historic and modern woodlands, heathland, a nature reserve with grazing cattle and ponies, and passes by sites of the historic mineral and transport heritage of the area.

Plump Hill car park. Near the top of the hill between Cinderford and Mitcheldean on the A4136 take the minor road signposted The Wilderness. After 100m turn left into the car park.
