Overview

For the majority of the walk we follow the Thurgoland Boundary Walk amended slightly to cut out a long road walking section. The walk takes in sections of the Trans Pennine Trail and a short section of the Dove Valley Trail. From the start point at the Cote Green car park on the TPT we head north to Silkstone Common, this part of the route is uphill and down dale for most of the way. From Silkstone Common we head back south on the TPT to our lunch stop at the Travellers Inn (hopefully) near Oxspring. Its then downhill into the valley of the River Don which we follow for some distance then its back onto the TPT and through the Thurgoland Tunnel.  Leaving the TPT at spring House we cross the River Don twice then with views of the Wortly Top Forge industrial museum its back to the start point.
