An unusual landscape for Shropshire as this is an almost flat area, however that means wide sky views across unspoilt countryside and farmland, with glimpses of distant hills. Starting and ending at The Sutherland Arms pub, in the old village of Tibberton, the walk is along quiet lanes and bridleways and across fields with a short there and back detour to see to the remains of an ancient medieval 'holy well'. We pass by two old water mills with their rushing 'mill race' streams. There are wildflowers and birds singing in the hedgerows and apart from two field crossings (one recently ploughed), the walk is on mainly good surfaces with no stiles and relatively little mud (also unusual for Shropshire!)
There will be a mid morning short rest stop (bring a drink and snack). Drinks, snacks and/ or a meal are optional at the Sutherland Arms afterwards. It is a dog friendly walk and it is a dog friendly pub with doggie treats available at the bar. Car sharing is available from Forge Retail Park in Telford Town Centre. Please let the leader know in advance if you want to car share, permission to bring your dog or intend to eat at the pub (menu available from the leader if you want to pre order).
