If you are a Ramblers member, please bring your membership card. You MUST text or ring the leader to BOOK a place. You should not join the walk unless you have received a verbal CONFIRMATION or a TEXT.
This route whilst a bit up and down is truly wonderful. We start at the Wireworks Car Park in Forge Lane Tintern. We head out on the Wye Valley walk towards Chepstow before climbing the natural steps (former river bed) uphill past the church in the middle of a field towards The Tout. Here we drop down across the meadow to enter Sychbant wood. It gets better! This very pretty path takes us through ancient woodland to emerge and follow the Anghidi Fawr stream. Once we have forced our way past the Fountain Inn (or do we?) we proceed uphill across the fields to the Hale woods where we descend to the valley which returns us to the cars. There are a number of stiles on this walk but nothing we cannot manage. Yes we drive for 45 mins to get to the start but it is worth it.

For those members who are happy to car share, we meet first at the Bath Road car park in Chippenham. (“Pay and Display”). Lifts are suggested at £5.00.
We start the walk at the Wireworks Car Park in Forge Lane Tintern, which is free. NP16 6TQ or google search M8X7+28 Chepstow. (O/S Explorer No. OL 14).
