Meet 0800 - Start 0930 - (note early start because of long drive to the walk) Grade B - OS Map 25 &19 - Start Point NGR NG957568
*** note early meeting time *** The walk starts at the car park on the A896 just west of the bridge over the Allt a'Choire Dhuibh Mhòir. From Inverness, drive to Kinlochewe - A9 north, then A835 at Tore Roundabout, then A832 just after Garve village. In Kinlochewe village turn Left onto A896. The car park is on the right after just over 6 miles, slightly elevated above the road itself.
Walk - An out and back walk with a steady and at times strenuous ascent on the outward leg. The path leaves the car park and climbs NW through the gap between Liathach and Beinn Eighe, giving ever improving views. Eventually it swings N and then E around the base of Sail Mhor, the westernmost of Beinn Eighe’s peaks. The scenery becomes more dramatic and to finish by climbing to the shore of Loch Coire Mhic Fhearchair with the impressive Triple Buttress ahead. A fine lunch spot before returning the way we came (downhill!). First rate Highland scenery on one of the area’s classic walks.
Distance – 14k / 9m - Ascent – 540m /1,770 ft – Leader Malcolm 07957423641
