Hello Everyone
Walk leader Betty grew up in Trysull so why not join her and ourselves for a leisurely jaunt this Sunday in an area she knows very well. Featuring quiet lanes, bridleways, field footpaths, and a stretch of canal thrown in for good measure this walk is pretty much flat throughout with a just six stiles.
Registration: 09.45. Walk start: 10.00. Walk leader: Betty (07929 369918)
⚠️No loo's at the start or during the walk.
☕🍺Post walk refreshments at The Bell in Trysull.
See you all there there on Sunday morning!
Directions. The start is located approximately five miles south-west of Wolverhampton. There are various ways to avoid the town centre if you're travelling from the Cannock area like most of the group. Below is the route via Oxley and Tettenhall which is fairly direct should you be sans-nav.
From your home location pick up the A5 westbound towards Gailey Island (M6 Junction 12), but turn left at the lights before the motorway into Vicarage Road to Four Ashes where turn left at the lights onto the A449 and proceed towards Wolverhampton.
Pass under the M54, still A449, and continue over the first two islands, then 0.25 mile after the second island get in lane to turn right signed for Pendeford. Follow the course of the road for almost 2 miles through Oxley and Aldersley until the mini-island T-junction with Lower Street, Tettenhall.
Turn left here, up the hill to the A41 lights, where straight over via the B4161 for 0.9 mile to Compton where right hand lane to go straight on at the island to pick up the A454 Bridgnorth Road. Proceed on the A454 for 0.85 mile to the lights opposite The Mermaid pub where turn left, then 150 yards later turn right into Castlecroft Lane. Follow for 1 mile until the T-junction where turn right signed for Trysull, and follow the course of the road for 1.2 miles to turn left into Trysull Holloway signed again for Trysull.
Follow this road into Trysull village and turn right at the church then immediately left into School Road. Proceed for 0.4 mile where the gated car park is on your right directly opposite the village hall. This is actually the school car park but is open to visitors.
