We are the West Berkshire Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
We head downhill to reach Thornford Road and the ford beyond before following the River Enborne as it snakes its way to reach the edge of Mill Green. Here we cross the river and head generally northwards passing Boar's Gully, George's Farm and Avenell's Copse to eventually turn left into Chamberhouse Mill Lane.
Crossing the River Kennet we join the Kennet and Avon Canal towpath before turning at the footbridge to skirt Chamberhouse Farm and walk uphill to reach and go across the Base Road. Turning eastwards we then follow the edge of Crookham Common to return to our starting point.
Please bring a drink and snack for a mid-walk break.
