Overview

We meet at Ashdown House and Estate National Trust carpark, accessed from the B4000. There is no charge for this car park. We then take a fairly gentle walk up to the Ridgeway, passing King Alfred's Castle. We walk along the Ridgeway, leaving it a little way beyond Wayland's Smithy. We walk across the fields (this part of the walk is very exposed to the elements!) and down over Weathercock Hill (steep slope down) back to the car park. Bring a drink and a snack.
