This is a change of route because of flooding on parts of the Thames Path section of the original walk. We start as previously intended: we head east out of Northmoor along the road to Bablock Hythe, where a ferry once operated. You can still see some of the winch gear. We then follow the Thames Path south for a little over half a mile to a footbridge where we’ll stop for refreshments then retrace our steps to Bablock Hythe. From there we’ll walk along the road to Payne’s Farm, at which point we turn south to thread our way between lakes back to Northmoor. Park considerately along the road through the village unless you will be going to the Red Lion for lunch, in which case you can use the pub car park. Vale Walk Leader DC 01367 820683 / 07544 979253
