Overview

Iconic Peak District area with riverside & wood edge, dales, drystone-wall fields, archetypal villages & remains of old lead mines.  Starting at Sheepwash Bridge in the pretty village of Ashford, walk via Great Shacklow Wood, Monsal Dale & Brushfield to Taddington & Sheldon, finishing with a gradual descent back to Ashford.  Total ascent & descent approx. 530m, some parts a bit steep.

Please park considerately for Well Dressing visitors - cp only £2 all day.  You might like to allow some time to see the well dressings.
