This walk in Salcombe and it’s surrounding area includes a top loop, a bottom loop, and a bit in between. In the top part of the loop we follow the Batson Creek around before gaining height to reach Snapes Point. This offers 360-degree views, including one of the best views of Salcombe. We then follow a path alongside the Kingsbridge estuary before heading inland and returning back to the start point to complete the top loop.
Next we walk through picturesque Salcombe, past North Sands and South Sands (stopping at one of these beaches for a swim) before arriving at the bottom loop.
Here we follow the higher cliff path enjoying some views back down the estuary before heading onto East Soar Farm Walkers Hut. This honesty cafe provides tea, coffee, ice cream, cream teas, and cakes, and should provide a welcome afternoon stop. Next, we meet up with the coast path near Bolt Head and follow it back to Salcombe to complete the bottom loop.
We then go past South Sands and North Sands again (where we will enjoy a second swim at whichever beach, we did not swim at the first time) before going through Salcombe to arrive back at the start point
