Join us for a walk exploring the early days of the Woollen Industry in this pretty corner of Carmarthenshire countryside.
The walk begins at the National Wool Museum, a former working Woollen Mill, now home to a museum, visitor centre and Cafe.
The circular route takes us through several small villages which were part of the woollen trade in the late 1800's and early 1900's, with the former mills now derelict or converted to private homes. Each village has its own character and stories, many have their own church or chapel.
During the walk we will cross three rivers each a tributary of the River Teifi and all once providing the important power source to drive forward the woollen industry.
The walk provides interesting and varied scenery with many enclosed lanes, woodland paths and open meadows. Although it was once a centre of industry it is now a quiet and charming rural area with very attractive views over gentle hills and valleys.
At the end of the walk we return to Drefach and the Wool Museum for refreshments, and if you wish, to take a tour of the museum and discover more about an important period in Welsh history.

The walk takes advantage of well marked footpaths, quiet roads and farm tracks. The route is not steep but there are some short ups and downs and paths may be slippery in places if it is wet. There are a few stiles and a ford across a shallow section of river.
Dogs welcome on a short lead, though there are some stiles.
