A new London walk for our group following the river Wandle from Mitcham to the Thames. A fascinating walk taking in many of the 19th century industrial sites and mills this river once powered. This is not the full Wandle Trail which is circa 14 miles but a shortened version from Mitcham Tram Stop
NB IF YOU WISH TO JOIN THIS WALK AND WILL NOT BE TRAVELLING WITH US FROM ESSEX, PLEASE CONTACT THE WALK LEADER BEFOREHAND AS THE TIMINGS ARE SUBJECT TO DELAYS ON TRANSPORT FROM ESSEX
A good proportion of the walk is through parkland and nature reserves. Coffee and Loo stop at Morden Hall also a stop at Earlsfield for refreshment. Plenty of places to leave the walk. This walk involves a C2C train to Stratford (not West Ham due to engineering works) 08.53 at SLH, 09.06 at Grays, Jubilee Line to Waterloo, Train to Wimbledon and then tram to Mitcham. Coming back we get the train from Wandsworth Town to Waterloo where there is a Wetherspoons for Sunday Lunch for those who wish. Make sure you bring an Oystercard or contactless payment card.
