It's been rather wet of late, so a fairly level walk on mainly solid paths with no quagmires and few slip hazards, seemed like a good idea for this weeks walk.
We commence our walk from Sherford Bridge car park, and head east. We will pass under Woolsbarrow Fort then skirt Oak Hill on our way to Bere Heath and then Philliols Heath, before heading west to Stroud Bridge. We will stop close to here for our lunch (roughly the halfway point).
After lunch we will continue to Northport Heath and pick up the Poole Harbour trail, leaving it at Gore Heath, where we head north back to our start point.
As a group we walk quite briskly, but there will be a pre lunch and post lunch short break if we need it.
To reach the start point from Bournemouth or Bere Regis take A35 to Park Corner then turn south on B3075, signposted Wareham and the car park is about a kilometre on the left at the bottom of Chitten Hill.
Parking is available at the start point for about 20 cars but if we car share as much as possible to reduce our footprint and leave parking spaces for other cyclists/ walkers please. If you contact me I should be able to put yo in touch with others who may live close to you.
There are no toilets on route. Please dress appropriately for the weather and conditions underfoot. There is likely to be a little shallow standing water so boots or waterproof trail shoes are recommended.
Please bring enough food and drink. No dogs except assisatance dogs please.
To book a place on the walk contact Tim 07825773363 by WhatsApp or SMS.
Post walk there will be optional refreshments at the Cock and Bottle in East Morden
