The walk is graded as strenuous especially due to the coastal path stretch. The walk provides a good variety of scenery and includes sections of the John Musgrave Heritage Trail and the Templer Way.
We start at Watcombe Beach car park at 10 am. Post code: TQ1 4SH. Grid reference: SX 47113 46184.
We walk through some local residential roads on this Watcombe edge of Torquay and up into the former grounds of Brunel Manor which was to have been the retirement home of Isambard Kingdom Brunel.
After the view over Torquay from Great Hill, we then head towards Higher Rocombe Barton and on to the picturesque village of Stokeinteignhead. After this we walk towards Teignharvey and will hopefully have some good views towards the River Teign along the way.
We then turn to head towards the popular fishing village of Shaldon and arrive at its narrow, winding streets. We will aim to have lunch in this area.
After Shaldon, we follow the South West Coast Path towards the Ness headland. We then follow the coast path back towards Bundle Head, then Maidencombe after which we turn inland via the Valley of Rocks and back to the car park again.
