Overview

The Water Of Leith Walkway is a 21 km walk (or cycle) downstream from Balerno to the Ocean Terminal in Leith. The path is reasonably straightforward. There is a 20 station Audio Trail that gives information about the history and  the mills that used to be on the river, best downloaded to a smart phone from the Water of Leith website.

The full walk is linear from Balerno to Leith. The Audio stations are at approximate 1 km intervals at 1 Balerno, 2 Currie, 3 Juniper Green, 4 Spylaw Park, 5 Redhall, 6 Bog's Mill, 7 Water of Leith Visitor Centre, 8 Saughton Park, 9 Roseburn Park, 10 Bell's Mills, 11 Dean Village Pt1, 12 Dean Village Pt2, 13, St. Bernard's Well, 14 Stockbridge, 15 Rocheid Path, 16 St. Mark's Park, 17 Bonnington, 18 Coalie Park, 19 Sandport Place, 20 Victoria Bridge.
