Overview

A slow to medium pace walk over undulating terrain.

Route: A walk through fields, Tewin Village, Brickground Wood, Queen Hoo Hall (a hunting lodge of Queen Elizabeth I), Nancybury Gorse, Tewin Wood, Margery Green, Dawley Wood, Digswell viaduct (100ft high which unsettled Queen Victoria), and Welwyn North station. The boot sucking mud path will be by-passed.

Food: Tewin Village Store (a cooperative run by 40 volunteers) for snacks (own food can be consumed on the premises but please buy a drink).

Drop-out points: None.

Travel: 10.57 King’s Cross (Cambridge train), 11.02 Finsbury Park, 11.30 Welwyn North (CHECK TRAIN TIMES).  Buy an OPDR to Welwyn North.
