A moderately challenging walk starting and finishing in Milngavie. We follow the West Highland Way to Carbeth. At Carbeth we leave the trail and divert towards Blanefield along the historic railway path, at Blanefield we pick up the John Muir Way before making our way through the Plantation and into Mugdock Country Park. We return to Milngavie train station via the reservoirs.
If you wish to come on the walk you must contact the Leader (Frances A) in advance by email or text but not more than two weeks in advance. Also please provide the Leader with a mobile phone number in case arrangements change.
A mixture of well established trails, tarmac and a short section on an unmarked path over grass/turf which can be muddy.
No toilets, plenty of cover.
This is quite a long walk so bring plenty to eat and drink, and be prepared for all weathers.
