Overview

Starting from the Buxton Monument on Bincleaves Green, the walk will follow the Rodwell Trail to Ferrybridge and then the route of the old railway until we reach Portland Marina and Osprey Quay. On the way we will call in at Sandsfoot Castle and the Dorset Wildlife Trust Visitors Centre on Chesil Beach. From the Marina we cut across to Chiswell, passing Chesil Cove and Quiddles before starting the climb up to The Heights Hotel. The return route to Castletown will skirt Portland Prison and take the incline back down to the Marina. We will then retrace our steps back past the National Sailing Academy to our start point on Bincleaves Green.
