We are the New Mills Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
Please contact the leader to join the walk as this provides your contact details should there be a late change or cancellation. It would also be appreciated if you would let the leader know if you decide not to come to save the group waiting for you.
The walk starts from the Whaley Bridge Wharf Car Park and will proceed through the Memorial Park to follow the Goyt Valley, crossing the Fernilee dam and continuing alongside the Fernilee and Erwood reservoirs taking the riverside walk to Goyt's Moss where we will leave the valley behind to ascend gently up Berry Clough before descending into Buxton passing through the Pavillion Gardens past the Crescent to finish at the bus stops by Spring Gardens.
Here we will be a choice of buses, one via Long Hill to take us back to the start.
Expect good views back down the valley and over the moorland.
At this time of year be sure to bring plenty to drink, and being the Peak District your waterproofs.
