This is a linear walk starting from the Canal Basin at Whaley Bridge and following the River Goyt to pass Fernilee and Erwood Reservoirs before ascending Berry Clough crossing the moors to descend into Buxton via the Pavilion Gardens where we will catch the 199 bus back to Whaley Bridge. (Bring a valid Bus Pass if you have one)

As the walk will be ascending up onto moorland it is advisable to come equipped with suitable walking boots, spare layers and waterproofs as the weather can be very changeable We make a coffee stop during the morning and a lunch stop later so please bring food and drinks.

The walk will follow the River Goyt passing above the Fernilee and Erwood reservoirs on woodland tracks, eventually to ascend up Berry Clough via a moorland path after which we follow a moorland track to finally descend into Buxton along a rough track and some roads untill passing through the Serpantine and Pavilion Gardens to reach a bus stop near the Spring Gardens.
