This 9.5 mile circular walk leaves Hackness along a quiet lane, picks up field paths and tracks through Whisperdales, eventually reaching the viewpoint at Reasty Hill Top. There are lovely open views over Harwood Dale as we follow good tracks along Reasty Bank before heading into Broxa Forest, where hopefully the trees are still showing their glorious autumnal colours 🍂. As we approach the hamlet of Broxa itself, we take a path alongside a farm and then cross fields along the edge of Hollgate Plantation and follow the path back to Hackness.
🅿️ Parking available at Hackness Village Hall, YO13 0JW – please bring cash 🪙 for the honesty box – please consider car sharing where possible as this is not a particularly big car park
🍺 After the walk, we can drive a few minutes to West Ayton where we can have refreshments at either the Forge Valley Inn or Denison Arms
🐶 Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead at all times – please note we are likely to encounter pheasants, sheep and cattle on the route
🥪 You will need to bring a packed lunch
