Overview

A circular walk starting in Whitchurch taking in the countryside of the North Wessex Downs AONB and passing through the hamlet of Litchfield. The route takes in the undulating countryside to the north of Whitchurch.

The route passes twice over the Roman road from Silchester to Old Sarum at Caesar's belt. The route partially follows the old Southampton to Didcot railway including through a disused tunnel. (60ft in length)

The start point is at the 1st Whitchurch Scout hut car park which is located at the end of Bere Hill. We have free use of the spacious car park. For those using public transport the start point is a 5 min walk from Whitchurch train station.
