From the now closed Underbank Activity Centre ascending to the delights of Whitwell Moor, with evidence of wartime activities.
We will be crossing open access moorland and ground nesting birds are vulnerable air this time. So we will be asking for the group to stick to the chosen (narrow) path across a short section of the moor. Dogs only on a SHORT lead.
The car park, at the now closed Underbank Activity Centre. The easiest route is from the Stocksbridge bypasss, turn into Midhopestones, then after a quarter of a mile turn left along Oaks Lane - the car park is in about 1 mile on the left.
