Overview

From the park and ride this relatively flat walk will allow us the opportunity for a short visit to the Christmas market. The route of the walk will incorporate the shorter Keats Trail walk. In late summer and autumn the English romantic poet John Keats stayed in Winchester and enjoyed a daily walk through College Close and the water meadows to St. Cross and was inspired to write the poem “To Autumn” on Sunday 19th September. This area has changed little in the last 200 years so we can re-imagine what inspired Keats to write the poem.
