We are the West Kent Walking Group. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
Please meet at Hosey Common car park, TN16 1PL (which is nearby but across the road so use w3w: notice.jazzy.love) at 09.45 for a prompt start at 10.00am. Our moderate 9 mile circular route takes in Westerham, Limpsfield Chart, Crockham Hill and Chartwell and we will finish just before dark around 4pm.
This fabulous walk combines the grassy meadows facing south over the Weald at the Kent-Surrey border with the beautiful woodland of Limpsfield and Hosey Commons. Most of this hilly terrain is firm and easy but several places are very wet, muddy and slippery, so decent boots are essential with good grip and ankle support. The stile count is average and the walk is fine with a dog although a lead is necessary both for livestock and walking along roads which is unavoidable in places. Bring a picnic lunch and Christmas jumpers are encouraged as it's that time of year!
Please note Westerham Hill will be closed for 2 weeks from December 16th due to works by Thames Water. Looking online now, it seems this could be a problem for those coming from the Bromley / Biggin Hill area and wider road congestion is predicted. Please everyone, check online to allow sufficient time for your journey.
