Overview

A scenic river, canal and cross-field walk from Wolverton Mill with a stop at Castlethorpe for lunch and toilet break.

We follow the river Ouse to Stony and Old Stratford, and then the Buckingham branch of the Grand Union canal to Cosgrove.  We cross the canal and follow field tracks to Castlethorpe, where we will stop for a lunch and toilet break at the new cafe at the recreation ground. We return following the railway south back to the river; we will walk around the nature reserve; and then under the Iron Trunk Aqueduct and back to Wolverton Mill.

The walk is a combination of surfaced tracks and field paths.  Bring a packed lunch or buy something at our cafe stop.

Meet at Water Mill Lane car park, off the Stratford Road, near the A5 viaduct.
