Overview

This walk in the Vale of Belvoir starts in Woolsthorpe by Belvior following the River Devon to Muston Bridge and then the Grantham Canal before rising through fields and footpath until we enter the Belvior Estate and return to Woolsthorpe with great views of Belvior Castle.

The terrain is fields, footpaths, canal towpaths and some road walking. 

There are 2 stiles and a slow steep ascent of a hill near the end of the walk.

Boots are recommended as are poles, the latter mainly for clearing undergrowth.

There was livestock in one of the fields so dogs would need to be on short leads.

There will be coffee and lunch stops so please bring your own refreshments and something to sit on.

Outside the Duck Pub in Woolsthorpe by Belvoir. Duck Lane, off Sedgebrooke Rd, Grantham, NG32 1NY From Newark take the A1 south towards Grantham and take the A607 exit towards Melton Mowbray. At the mini roundabout take the second exit to the T junction. Turn right and straight through the next roundabout staying on the A607. Continue through Harlaxton and down a hill towards Denton. Turn right at the bottom of the hill and follow the road through Denton to Woolsthorpe by Belvoir. At the cross roads turn right down Sedgebrook Road through Woolsthorpe take the first right (at the end of the pavement on the passenger side) and park up on the grass verge as near to the bridge as possible. We will gather in front of the Pub.
