Overview

We are walking from Wootton this week up into the Weaver Hills, using lanes and fields. There is then a moderate climb to reach the Trig point , where we should be rewarded by stunning views if the weather is kind! From there we will be walking through open countryside to loop back to Wootton Dairy farm by 1 p.m. There are 15 stiles overall I am assured by the walk leader. If this is your first time with us there is always someone to assist, but a bit of agility is required.

We will eat our packed lunches at the Dairy, though there are ice creams and possibly home made cake at "The Hatch" if you fancy a treat. After our lunch break we will complete the walk through Wootton Lodge grounds.

If you are thinking of trying us out this could be the perfect walk for you, the morning will be a little longer than the second half but it gives you a choice of an easier walk in the afternoon, or you could of course come along for the whole event.

From your home location make your way to Uttoxeter and go through the town centre. At the island with the large bull sculpture carry straight on the B5030 towards Rocester, right at the first island then continuing straight ahead. The road becomes to B5032 as you approach Ellastone. After "The Duncombe Arms" fork left onto Wootton Road. Continue to bear left onto Ellastone Road, turning right soon after into Dalton's Dairy. Please note that the postcode is not an accurate location, Apple and presumably Google have Dalton's Dairy listed, or use what3Words.
