This is a pleasing walk around the magical Wye woodlands and down along the river. There are some rather steep and slippery descents, and may be mud and some fallen trees! Houses and farms are scattered in the woods, many done up nice.
We will walk along the river bank to the Boat Inn by the old railway bridge at Redbrook, where choice refreshments are available, including unusual ciders.
After the pub there are two steep climbs, mainly on tarmac this time, up to Penallt Church where we will catch our breath.
Then it’s lanes and tracks back, including a detour to parkland with lovely trees and two gurt houses.
