From Yapton follow briefly the route of the Old Canal over farmland towards Ford. From there follow good paths to Ford Marina and follow the River Arun northwards with excellent views of Arundel in the distance. Leave the river heading west over quiet lanes and farmland via Binsted and Walberton before turning southwards over public footpaths back towards Yapton.
Picnic Yes
Assistance dogs only
There are four crossings of ‘B’ roads and a pedestrian railway level crossing to negotiate. In addition some short minor roads to walk along and a couple of stiles.
The route is pretty much level.
Graded as ‘leisurely’, however, it could be ‘moderate’ if heavy going over wet farmland.
There is a free, public car park at Yapton Village Hall but it can get busy quickly so if possible use car share or public transport.
Yapton is served well with public transport being on the following bus routes:
Route 500 Chichester - Littlehampton (via Barnham Railway Station)(every 30 mins)
use Yapton Village Hall stops.
Route 700 (Coastliner) Chichester - Littlehampton (via Bognor Regis)(every 30 mins)
use Sparks Corner stops which is 150m from Yapton Village Hall.
Also Routes 66A,66C - limited service
Picnic
Assistance Dogs only as livestock likely in some areas.
Check out Arun - Adur group website for latest walk information nearer the day.
