What we do
We take photographs on our walks
Visit our website to see photographs of walks that we have previously enjoyed.
On these pages you will find that we walk all over South Wales and beyond.
You can also see photographs of some of the previous coach trips, socials and weekends away.
We promote walking in Swansea
We are part of Swansea Council's Walking Forum where we:
- discuss how to get more people active
- we lead introductory walks to encourage walking
We sit on the Local Access Forum, a statutory body of:
- landowners
- the public who walk, ride and cycle
Our volunteers advise the council on matters of access in Swansea.
We also are part of the Ramblers' Glamorgan Area of Ramblers' groups. With the Area and Ramblers GB, we discuss promotion of walking and protection of the paths we use.
We maintain the network of paths
We work with Swansea Council to maintain footpaths.
Their Countryside Access Team cannot maintain all the paths in Swansea without the help of volunteers.
Our Path Maintenance Team meet every month to clear paths or install gates and bridges.
You are welcome to become a member of our team.
You can email our Path Maintenance Team Leader for more information
We have social events
We run a number of social events that include meals out, coach trips and weekends away.
Our members find these an important part of their membership benefit.
See the Socials page for more information about upcoming events.
We have a social after almost every walk and usually this is included in the walk description. Come along and meet us.
We make new friends
For many of our members, walking with Swansea Ramblers provides opportunities to make friendships that extend far beyond walking.
Many people go on to enjoy their new network of friends and discover other social activities outside of the walking group.
If you are new to the area or don't want to explore the countryside alone, come along and walk with a friendly group.
