The walk description: We meet at the CADAS office on Victoria Place at 10am. We walk through town to Abbey Street, down off Castle Way to the river Caldew and follow the path to the Bay. It’s a quiet path. We return via Denton Street calling in at Cornerstones for refreshments. (There are free crafting activities if anyone wants to stay on after the group until 1pm.) We then return via the viaduct into town. This is accessible for people with mobility issues and can be shortened if need be.

Walk 2 Bitts Park and Rickerby Park.

We meet at the CADAS office on Victoria Place at 10am. We then walk to either Bitts or Rickerby Park. The Eden river is a feature of the walk and sometimes we walk further past the Sheepmount. Everyone is welcome to join us and bring friendly dogs, friends and family along. We end the walks with a cuppa at a café in central Carlisle.

It is worth ringing our helpline number the day before (unless you are a regular attender as we have your details) if we have to cancel for unforeseen circumstances, we then have your contact details, and we can let you know.

Walk 3 The Swifts and Bitts Park

We meet at the CADAS office at 10am. We walk down Victoria Place to the flood defences on St Aidan’s Road. We turn left and meet the suspension bridge. We keep left (avoiding Rickerby Park) and follow a path along the river to the Sands Centre. We go through the tunnel into Bitts Park and take the path right towards the Sheepmount. We take a left turn there and walk past the castle and onto Castle Way where we return into the city centre. Then we usually go for a coffee and/or a bite to eat. It is an accessible route for people with mobility issues.
